Dr. Bhagwhan Dash, Minister of Ayurvedic Health and Family Welfare, India describes the aim of the Siddha Ayurvedic therapies. “ In brief, the aim of this therapy is to maintain the youth of the individual along with his long life. Instead of a society of old and invalid people, it aims at creating a society of people with youthful vigor both physical and mental.”
Ayurveda and Siddha Vaidya are the oldest living medical systems of today, developed in India thousands of years ago. Over centuries these important body therapies have been used for health and well being with the added benefit of leaving your skin looking and feeling beautiful. They improve your health, provide a calming effect, and a renewed feeling of vitality.
Abhyanga is recommended for:
Muscle soreness. Joint pain & stiffness. Nervousness, emotional tension, stress, lack of energy, and listlessness. Immune dysfunction, fatigue and tiredness. Paralysis/paresis of traumatic origin injury. Poor digestion, poor elimination. Sleeplessness, or scattered and ungrounded feelings.
By removing blockage in the energy channels called nadis, the massage calms, relaxes, tones and soothes the nervous system. It can be used to treat sleeplessness.
Siddha massage regulates the other systems and organs such as the digestive and eliminative systems. It is known to increase the production of collagen and elastin fibers, and aids in the removal and prevention of wrinkling increasing suppleness of the skin.
Massage promotes relaxation, calming of Vatha, Kapha and Pittha; it balances these humors and increases the circulation to body's largest eliminative organ, the skin. It also aids in the central blood flow and facilitates the removal of waste products into the central circulation from where it is removed. Massage increases lymph flow and strengthens the immune system, releases muscle tension and muscle spasm.
Mobility of the ligaments, tendons and joints is increased, thereby adding to the flexibility of the body. . Massage helps to break the adhesions between the muscle fibers to relieve muscle spasm and pain of chronic/acute origin.
Nasaya
A procedure aimed at reducing waste products (Ama) from the head throat and nose area of the body. Nasaya is the introduction of medicated substances into the nose, stimulates secretion, removing impurities of the head and neck. The treatments primary effect is to improve the connection between the senses and their organs of perception, opening the channels (shrotas) through which the information flows.
Nasaya is used in headaches, sinusitis, nervousness, migraines, vascular headaches, stiff neck, heaviness in head, running eyes, ear infections, hearing loss, tinnitus, and loss of smell, and much more. This treatment also can be used several times a week in conjunction with other therapies like reflexology, and head and scalp massage.
Shirodhara
Thin thread of warmed oil is poured over the forehead and scalp. Shirodhara relaxes and calms the mind, pacifies vatha, cleanses, calms, and balances the nervous system, relieves stress, quiets the senses, and improves mental clarity. Shirodhara improves the body’s healing ability and is used before the rejuvenation (Kriya karma) therapies. Shirodhara is usually repeated several times a week for optimal benefits. Shirodhara also adds luster and sheen to the hair, reduces dry scalp, for healthier hair and scalp.
Health, Beauty and Skin Care
Beauty and health are synonymous in Ayurveda and Siddha Vaidya, the oldest living medical systems of today. Physical beauty is given emphasis as an outward expression of health. Our skin, the largest eliminative organ, is a key to inner health. Using cleanses (Pancha Karma) and
regular body treatments (Purva Karma) one is able to maintain total body health with the only side effect being beautiful, softer, smoother skin
Ayurveda and Siddha Vaidya beauty transcends the outer manifestations and combines the subtle qualities like grace in posture and movement, freshness and vitality. The emphasis is on self-knowledge and development of positive routines and habits, which result in bringing out the best in us. Beauty is the perfection of what is visually perceived. It includes contours of the body, texture of the skin, and quality of the hair and nails.
Ayurveda and Siddha Vaidya developed primarily as a curative and preventative medical science. It also gave importance to wellness, beauty, longevity, and life span, with thousands of herbal formulations to promote these aspects. The beauty and life span treatments in Ayurveda and Siddha Vaidya have a firm base on a sound understanding of physiology and other basic
medical sciences. Using the know-ledge in herbology and its effect on various bodily functions, with and without other physical agents like heat and steam to modulate their actions, Siddha Vaidya and Ayurveda laid a firm foundation in beauty and longevity.
PURVA KARMA: The purpose of this treatment is to loosen and mobilize toxins trapped in the tissues, moving them towards the organs of the body from which they can be removed by the cleansing processes of the body. Massage (abhyanga), steam (svedana), and other full or partial
body treatments including use of herbs, pastes, and masques(snehana), foot reflexology, face and scalp treatments, basti oil therapies, and aromatherapy, color therapy, crystals and gems, are used in preparation for Pancha Karma and Kriya karma.
Pancha Karma
Cleansing Therapy
An ancient, scientific system for detoxification of the body. It rejuvenates the whole system, bringing youthfulness and strength to the body and calm openness to the mind. Traditionally, it is undertaken as a preventive therapy at the change of seasons, both winter to spring and summer to fall. The aim is to cleanse the body not only of waste materials that may have built
up in the body, but also excesses in subtle energies or tissues, thereby promoting positive health and longevity through the changing climatic conditions. Pancha Karma means “5 actions”, includes therapies like Nasaya, Shirodhara, Vamana, Blood cleansing herbs, and Enema.

Kaya Kalpa
Known as Rejuvenation or Rebuilding treatments.
Ela kirzhi A rejuvenation treatment from Southern India originally reserved for royalty and the wealthy. Pouches filled with herbs are soaked in hot, herbal oils and then gently swept across the body. The warmth allows the skin to fully absorb the herbal oils, enabling the nutrients to reach all the cells, making possible the removal of accumulated waste products. Thetreatment brings deep relaxation, quietness of mind and soft, smooth skin. The blood is cleansed, the immune system is enhanced and new white blood cells are produced
Navarra Kirzhi 2 therapistThis is said to be the original treatment from India that
Mark Anthony sought for his Queen, Cleopatra. This treatment uses herbal milk, seeds and medicated oils, giving the skin a softer, younger look and feel. The herbs not only rejuvenate, they also tone and sculpt the body. It is the most luxurious of the Siddha Vaidya rejuvenation
treatments. It can be performed by two therapists in synchronization, applying herbal oil, preparing the body with simple friction massage and passing herbal pouches lightly over the skin. The warmth to the skin allows the herbs to be absorbed, increases the circulation and triggers the body’s natural healing and rejuvenation processes. A more youthful and invigorated
being is the result.
Generally Kaya Kalpa treatments (sometimes called kriya karma) are done in a series of 3, 5 or 7 consecutive days, as they build on each other, however, if only one can be taken, it is still beneficial as it stimulates the rejuvenation process to begin.

Why are these treatments so effective?
Siddha Vaidya and Ayurveda use special herbalized oils and herbs that trigger changes in the tissues and organs systems of the body to bring balance and harmony to the overall system. The oils contain herbs called adaptogens that have been discovered to not only provide nutritional support but balance and modify systems of the body. These adaptogens, as they are called, will
instigate a reaction in the body that is appropriate to achieve a state of homeostasis or balance.
The reactions affect the autonomic nervous system, the endocrine system, and blood pressure, among others.
Adaptogens are credited with these properties: helping the body adapt to stress, tending to bring the body back to homeostasis, increasing protein biosynthesis, raising antibody titer after
immunization, elevating body enzyme synthesis, promoting general endocrine synthesis, improving mental ability, increasing physical ability, fighting free radicals, improving eyesight,
increasing color perception, prolonging life span, being beneficial to cardio-vascular and respiratory systems, and improving non-specific resistance to various stressors like heat, cold, etc.
